I don't have MS but my brother does. He was on Avonex shortly after he was diagnosed with it which was about 6 years ago. So he was on it a couple years in which time he would still have flare ups. He had only 2 flares up before he was diagnosed with it. One when he couldn't move his arm and another time when he blacked out and couldn't move. So his flare ups continued to get worse and then his doctor suggested Chemo, which he did for one year, it worked great and now he will be on a different med. It's so hard to say if you should start your meds because you really haven't had a lot of flare ups and feel better good? Now might be the best time to start.
