Americans Please Help!!

Someone who I talk to on MSN just used the name "goober" when talking of someone....

What on earth is a goober??????!!

  1. a 'goober' is actually the adolescent word for a spit ball - you know, those big spit balls you can spit really far?? As in, "I just spit a huge goober."

    As you can see, being called a goober isn't really a good thing. It usually just means a person who can't be taken seriously - who you can just overlook or not put any stock into. A silly person who is of no consequence. Like a dork, moron, looser. I'm sure some people mean it more offensively than others. If I called someone a goober, it would be to get a laugh.

  3. Another definition of goober: a silly person. Not vulgar in the least. Not especially flattering but is about as insulting as saying "you're a silly farty-fart-fart-head."
