Hmmmmm....

It's been a VERY boring day today.

I know boredom is a relatively 'new' modern concept, which springs from over commercialisation, and as a result of growing up in a society built entirely on consumerism;

BUT...

Even so, I was VERY bored today.

It was one of those days where the boredom reached a point where apathy sets in, and you "can't be bothered" to do anything, except vegitate in front of the TV, or sit at the computer screen, looking for anything remotely interesting to grab your attention...

Incidentally, all the painting is now finished in my room, so I put all the furniture back temporarily until I can get my new carpet. No point taking pics, as the room isn't finished, and my two-seater leather couch isn't here yet!! :-) (arrives Monday night, thanks to my bro!!)

Rang Adele tonight, and talked for an hour and a half on the phone about nothing in particular, I think we were both in a similar mood!

It's really funny when I get like this, I sometimes find it difficult to get motivated about anything, and struggle to form coherent thoughts. It's wierd.

This post is boring me even typing it out, (!) so if you read this and get to the end, well done! lol

Hehe...

A few silly jokes for you, some of them made me giggle quite a lot!!:

LOST IN THE DARNDEST PLACES:

An elderly Floridian called 911 on her cell phone to report that her car has been broken into. She is hysterical as she explains her situation to the dispatcher: "They've stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and even the accelerator!" she cried.

The dispatcher said, "Stay calm. An officer is on the way." ………………………

A few minutes later, the officer radios in."Disregard." He says. "She got in the back-seat by mistake."

FAMILY:

Three sisters ages 92, 94 and 96 live in a house together. One night the 96 year old draws a bath. She puts her foot in and pauses.
She yells to the other sisters, "Was I getting in or out of thebath?" The 94 year old yells back, "I don't know. I'll come up and see."
She starts up the stairs and pauses "Was I going up the stairs ordown?" The 92 year old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters.
She shakes her head and says, "I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood."
She then yells, "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door."

"I CAN HEAR JUST FINE!"

Three retirees, each with a hearing loss, were playing golf one fine March day. One remarked to the other, "Windy, isn't it?"

"No," the second man replied, "it's Thursday."

The third man chimed in, "So am I. Let's have a beer."

LITTLE LADY:

A little old lady was running up and down the halls in a nursing home.
As she walked, she would flip up the hem of her nightgown and say "Supersex."
She walked up to an elderly man in a wheelchair. Flipping her gown at him, she said, "Supersex." He sat silently for a moment or two and finally answered, "I'll take the soup."

OLD FRIENDS:

Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades.

Over the years, they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to meeting a few timesa week to play cards.

One day, they were playing cards when one looked at the other and said, "Now don't get mad at me .... I know we've been friends for a long time but I just can't think of your name! I've thought and thought, but I can't remember it. Please tell me what your name is."

Her friend glared at her. For at least three minutes she just stared and glared at her. Finally she said, "How soon do you need to know?"

SENIOR DRIVING:

As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him,"Herman, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way onInterstate 77. Please be careful!"

"Heck," said Herman, "It's not just one car. It's hundreds of them!"

DRIVING:

Two elderly women were out driving in a large car - both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to an intersection. The stoplight was red, but they just went on through.

The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself "I must be losing it. I could have sworn we just went through a red light."

After a few more minutes, they came to another intersection and the light was red again. Again, they went right through. The woman in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous.

At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was red and they went on through. So, she turned to the other woman and said, "Mildred, did you know that we just ran through three red lights in a row? You could have killed us both!"

Mildred turned to her and said, "Oh, dear, am I driving?"

Funkiness In Da Room...

Well, it's getting there, though I need to get a new carpet and fit it on Sunday. Hopefully Sunday evening the room should be finished!!

Had a very nice surprise today: My brother and my sister-in-law are getting a new three piece suite, so have offered me pickings of their old one, 'cos they heard I was re-decorating...

The long and short of it is, I'm getting a Black Leather Two Seater Couch!!!!

YAY!!!!!!

I feel my room will have reached new heights of funkiness, I will have to buy a light to go behind the couch, for mood lighting etc...

Here endeth the days of sitting on the bed to watch TV!!

I'm so made up!!

Tee Hee!

*excited to the point of (nearly) wetting himself*

Procrastination, Optic Stimulation, & Decorating... NOT A Good Combination!!

I'm sitting in the middle of a devastated room typing this. My desk is in the middle of the room, with boxes of CD's and my bed, bookshelves and cabinet surrounding it, all crushed up together in a small mountain of chaos.

I'm halfway through a full re-decoration of my room, and am already losing motivation! All the wallpapering is done, and it looks brilliant, but I can't move things back into place until all the skirting boards have been painted.

I think this is what living on your own must be like. I arrived home from work, to find that all of my family were out doing different things: Dad had gone to lead a meeting at his church, mum was still in work, my brother had just gone off to work, and my sisiter had gone out for the night to stay over at a friend's house. I knew I should get changed into my scuffs, and start painting...

But I didn't.

Instead, I let myself be overcome by tv.

I've just wasted my whole night watching tv, most of which I can't remember now. Strange how the human will can be overcome by a the god of the small box of moving images and sounds. Strange that this invention of metal, wires and signals can so capture my attention, that I lose motivation to do anything else but sit in front of it and absorb every detail it feeds to my sub-conscious.

I guess that can be what living on your own is like. With no-one around to think about but yourself and your own needs, the weaker-willed person could get side tracked by the most benign things, until that task of immense importance becomes part of a lengthened procrastinence, that ultmately leads to restlessness.

Anyhow....

The long and short of it is that I feel I've wasted my night, and need to go to bed soon....

How I HATE decorating!!

Maybe one day I'll learn where the off button is....

I live in hope.

Today's Video...

Is "Nobody's Fool" by Evanescence.

It's an interesting look at the marketing/advertising industry, and hinting that as consumers, we sometimes let them manipulate us.

Excellent song!!

Mission Accomplished...!!

Right!

Here are the pics of my room, not very good, but give you an idea of how much work I've had to do this weekend to get it like this!! lol

I'm knackered!!

The booksheleves, a dressing gown... and, you've guessed it!! MORE carpet!!!

Manic Hobbit... And It's Not Toronto!!

I had a REALLY bad giggling fit in church tonight...!

Had to stuff my sleeve in my mouth to stop myself from bursting into laughter during the sermon, and it wasn't at anything that funny really!!! Will, (one of our pastors) just made a mistake and said a word the wrong way round, I can't even remember what it was now, but for some reason it sounded RIDICULOUSLY funny to me at the time!!

The worst thing is, because I was leading worship, I was sitting on the front row, so Will could see my shoulders going all the time, as I struggled to control myself!! I thought at one point I was going to wet myself there and then!! It was really funny, but it definitely wasn't anything spiritual, just me being in a silly mood! After it started, every little word that Will said started me off again, until I was making very quiet girly high-pitched noises in trying not to laugh!!

I have had a giggling fit before, the worst one was when I did a Beach Mission a few years ago, and someone told a really bad joke, but it set me off giggling just before I was about to go to bed, and I giggled and laughed for a solid 30 minutes!!!! I then started everyone else off in the room (it was a dorm type thing) and they started throwing pillows at me to shut me up so they could get some sleep!!

The worst thing about it was that I didn't know what I was laughing at, I just couldn't help myself!!! I would stop after a couple of minutes, then there'd be a silence that I would interrupt about 30 seconds after by exploding in laughter again!! It was really woerd, and I was sooooo tired afterwards!!!

Thankfully tonight, I recovered by the end of the sermon to lead the last song....

Pheeew!

Today's Video...

Is by the band Switchfoot.

Easily the biggest selling Christian Rock band of the moment, they've now found deserved success with their latest album, and their single More To Life featured on the Spiderman 2 soundtrack.

This video really makes you think, the song is brilliant.

:-)

Nuff said.

Anticipation...

She's home on Wednesday!!!!!

I can't wait!!!

(well, obviously I'll have to, got no choice, but you know what I mean...)

We've been sending txt messages to each other today saying how excited to see each other we both are... lol

Going for a chineese on Wednesday, then coming back to my newly moved around room to watch a dvd, Im going to cuddle her all night!!! lol

I've really missed her, it'll be good to be able to spend some time with her... :-)

Anyway, that's it. Nothing interesting really, just thought I'd let the blogging world know how happy I am that I'll be seeing her!! Had thought about some candles, but then thought that was a bit over the top for watching a dvd!!! lol lol lol

Not that we'll prob watch alot of it... ;-) lol

Here's hoping!!

"...And The Next Event Is The Early Morning Bathroom Dash..."

When you live in a house with five members of your Family, mornings get a bit stressful at times.

In my older wisdom, gleaned from years of sitting on the landing stairs, I've come to realise that in the end, the female has the last word. Whether it's my mum or my sister, protesting and waiting times don't seem to matter.

In the end, there is no Bathroom Democracy, it is every unwashed person for themselves...

Still Cheese, But Less So (slightly!!)

Ok, as we live in a consumer-driven society, I give in to the demands of the Market.

Video has been changed to one of Bon Jovi in his former long-haired Glory Days, when he was King of tight trousers and bad Lighting...

Enjoy, my Blogging children!!

:-)

Luuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrve...

Ok, so it's Feb 13th.

The day before the cheesiness starts!!

...And now I have a gf, I LOVE IT!!!

lol

Shallow bloke that I am!

Well, thought I'd celebrate it with the cheesiest video/song I could find...

Once the super-macho testosterone-filled man of 80's Rock, Jon Bon Jovi underwent a dramatic change in the 90's and became the "New man" romantic middle-of-the-road ballad singer type that we all know him as now...

I love this song, 'cos it's soooo cheesy!! lol

So...

Sit back, get your tissues and weep... :-)

lol

Enjoy!!

I Forgot To Say...

I'll be posting pics of my newly set-out room later on tommorrow... or should I say Today!!

(am in church for 10:30 am... Oops!)

A very hurried Goodnite to you all!!

One Big Sigh...

Phew.

Nearly Finished!!

Today I spent all of my day off having my first "New year Chuck-Out" for approx nine years!!!

I chucked out SEVEN (yes, seven!) Bin Bags full of documents and papers, and old songs that were rubbish, and also a lot of photos of ex's, etc. It's taken about 38 hours in total, but I've done it, and I'm exhausted!!

The problem is I'm one of those people who just hordes things, even if they have no use, or are unpractical to keep, just because they have sentimental value!! I just can't bear to throw things away!!

Well, last night and today I did it, and now I have EONS of space in my room!! In fact, I have realised I have so much space, I can get a small 2 seater couch, AND my Marshall Valvestate Twin Speaker Guitar Amp!!! This is fantastic news, as it means I don't need to keep the Marshall in church anymore!! I can record to my heart's content at home now!! :-)

I've decided I'm going to save up for a 2 seater couch, so that my room's even more cosy... Krystle, you got any ideas for me Ikea wise?! (thought I'd ask, you're a girl for a start so you know colours, and you seem to know the Ikea range inside out...lol)

I'm really tired, but glad I did it. I've also rearranged all the furniture in my room, so that I have a big area of space in the centre of the room now, so it feels much bigger, even though it's probably the same amount of room as before!

All this was because I'm meeting Adele on Wednesday night, we're going for something to eat, and then coming back to mine to watch a dvd. Not very exciting I know, but I'm a bit skint at the moment, so I'm having to take it easy on the whole "expenditure" thing!!

I'm glad I've got the room sorted though: it'll be nice to curl up with Adele on my bed to watch a sloppy film... :-) I may even get some Hot Choccy and Marshmellows and dim the lights to make it a nicer atmosphere... I'm an old romantic at heart really!!

I've really missed her, and it's only been two weeks since we last saw each other, since then I've written her 6 letters... lol

A bit sad I know... but hey, I LIKE the girl ALOT!! :-)

Oh well, I'll go to bed on the happy thought of cuddles with Adele on Wednesday... yay! :-)

Nite!

A Dwelling Place Will Be Born....

Hobbit's press spokesperson would now like to make the following statement:

"...I can confirm that on the 11th day of February, 2005, following many years of hording, Mr Knotwise has made the decision to clear out his hovel, and to re-invent his general dwelling place...

As of 19:00 hours today, a dedicated team of one began clearing out 15 YEARS worth of old school documents, pictures, letters from friends long since moved, general keepsake items of no particular interest or value except of the owner, etc..."

Mr Knotwise, when questioned about why things had got so bad, replied thus:

"I'm afraid it started in my teens, but got steadily worse when I became a student. It worsened considerably when I did a year out after my degree and worked and lived in Birmingham for a year, then came back to my home..."

The apparent hording of useless items got so bad, that Mr Knotwise could not find his clean socks this morning, and he could not get to his own wardrobe for fear of falling over items.

"...That was the last straw!" said Mr Knotwise, "...When a man can't find his own clean socks in the morning, THAT is precisely the time to take action!!!"

Rumours abound that the said Hobbit is going to re-arrange the furniture in his room, but no-one is forthcoming with answers or even details...

Please stay tuned as more developments of a redecorative nature arise....

Dammit.

Felt really depressed and down today.

My bank decided to charge me with three different charges, (£130!) which has wiped out the rest of my money for the month.

The week before Valentines Day.

My FIRST with my gf!!!

Aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Had a talk with her tonight, and she says not to worry, she'll treat me to "the classiest meal Maccy D's has to offer"!!!

:-)

lol I think she's great, I dunno why she hasn't dumped me yet!! lol

So, after Mac's, I said we can come back to mine and watch a DVD in my room, probably something sloppy by Sandra Bullock... You know the kinda thing!!

She said she wasn't bothered where we went or what we did, she wanted to be with me!!

I am really humbled. I don't deserve her at all.

Oh well, on that positive note, I'm off to bed!

Nite all! :-)

Today's Video....

Is A-Ha's first real hit single, "Take On Me". This was actually one of the first proper singles I ever bought, and I loved it!!

Although it looks really dated now, it was the first of it's kind in animated videos in the Eighties. Just as Queen wowed people with Bohemian Rhapsody's recording, both musically and in terms of video production, so A-Ha did in the Eighties with Animation. Love them, hate them, one thing you can say about A-ha is that they were pioneers in their field...

Personally, I still think they were great!!

Today...

  • I slept in and arrived 30 mins late for work
  • Which also meant I had to make the time up by having a half hour lunch break instead of an hour
  • I found my glasses again!! (I'd lost them earlier on in the week!) Because I couldn't see first thing in the morning, until I put my contacts in, I didn't notice that my glasses had fallen on the floor!!! I was VERY lucky that I didn't step on them by mistake!!
  • I had an incredibly boring day in work, almost went comatose out of boredom!!
  • I had the first proper practice with three of my core musicians, practicing songs for the Easter Service on Sun evening. (it went brilliantly, I was shocked!! lol)
  • I didn't get the opportunity to catch up on my sleep!! I'm KNACKERED!!!
  • I talked to Adele on the phone... :-)
  • I planned to tidy and gut my room on Saturday, before Adele comes back on Wednesday next week!!
  • Is the earliest I've got to bed for the last week and a half!!
  • I've been at my current job for SEVEN years...!! (the 9th)

Um... I can't think of anything else, my brain is over tired now!!

Nite!

Tommorrow

I have a Hospital Checkup, where I will have a bladder scan, which is basically using the same kind of equipment that expectant mothers have for an ultrasound.

I know what you're thinking... That cold jelly stuff they put on them? The hard pressure which is more excruciating 'cos you've been told to drink two gallons before you arrive?!

Oh yeah.

I get that too.

Yeuch.

Roll On Thursday...

Today's Vid...

Is "Bad Day" by R.E.M.

I think they're fantastic, and I've liked everything they've ever done, which is rare for me and bands... They have been around a long time, I have fond memories of their music and images of my student days... :-)

This song is a sarcastic ironic look at the news Stations and the Media generally, and a fun poke at the way they ALWAYS seem to report on the bad news... I think the video is very clever, and Michael Stipe is hillarious as the newsreader!! lol This is also the closest they've come in a few years to their original sound, in their "Losing My Religion" days...

Go guys!!

Runrig Gig. Wow.

It was fantastic.

I'll post on it when I have more time!!

Runrig Pics...

I'm afraid this was the best picture of the night... What can I say, I'm short!! *shrugs*

Looking Forward...

Got an exciting (and busy!) week coming up!! (my life is that sad, lol)

Tonight is the American Superbowl, (see the link at the bottom right for details!) so I'm off to my mate Bazza's after church for the Superbowl Party, to eat LOADS of food (he's ordered/bought about TEN PIZZA'S!!!!!) and to watch the game with a few other people from church!! (It'll probably finish at 2a.m.!!)

Then, I've got work tommorrow, but leaving straight from work, getting picked up, and going to a concert that I paid for a ticket for before Christmas, and forgot about!!
It's the band Runrig, (see the link to their site, bottom right of the page) they're a scottish gaelic rock band, you've probably never heard of them, as they've been going a looooong time!! They have a Massive following though!!! They're playing in Manchester, and I'm going with some friends from church. Should be a really good gig, I presume that's gonna be a late night too!!

Thennnnnnn....

Tuesday night I've got a band practice for the Easter Sunday PM Service. I'm planning and organising an alternative event, so am practicing the music, and teaching some new songs to the guys!! By the way, what are you doing Easter Sunday night?! I'm a bit nervous about it since it'll be the first service I've been completely responsible for, music, powerpoint, leading and singing, and everything!!
Thennnnnnnn....

Wednesday morning I've got a hospital appointment, got a bladder scan, (how pleasant!) and reviewing the injections so far, I'm owed two hours from staying late on Saturday, so even if the appointment is only 20 mins, I'm still not going into work till 11!! :-)
In the evening, we're starting small groups in the church, this is the first week! We've had home study groups for years, but we're adopting a cell principle for them now, and they're making me officially a deputy leader of my small group, with the aim eventually of me breaking off and leading my own group!! (gulp!) That should be exciting, as we've got a good group of people, and I've known them for years...

Thursday I'm going to crash, have a night in and sleep I think!! lol Unless my mate Pete is off, and then we'll be having our weekly curry night! Mmmm.... Hot Chicken Tikka msala.... Mmmmmmm.... (drifts off into Homer-like trance)

Ahem.

Anyways...

Friday is gonna be a relaxing night in I think! I'll work on more ideas for the Easter service, and start to plan a teaching outline for the kids Mission...

Saturday I have off!!

YAY!!

This time next week I'm leading again in the evening, so will have to choose and plan songs sometime before Saturday, probably Friday night I reckon!!

Pheeeeeeeeew! I feel tired just telling all that!!

lol

See????!

I do sometimes work hard!!

lol

Gotta go, am leading tonight as well, and have to be at Church for 5:45!!

No rest for the Wicked, and all that....

Today's Video...

Is P.O.D. yet again, a track called "Change Your World".

These guys are fantastic, I'd love to see them live!!

P.s.... their website has changed, (see the link to it further down my blog on the right-hand side) and has some pre-release sample music from their forthcoming album, as yet unamed...

It also has some really funny video of them recording the new album, and skitting their own lyrics... lol

Hmmmm...

The message in church today has really made me think.

We've been looking at a series called "A Life Worth Living", (nothing to do with Nicky Gumbel sorry!!) which is basically following on from our series on the Beattitudes, where we're now moving on to look at Matthew Ch 6.

Today we were looking at the part where Jesus talked about storing treasures up in heaven:

?19? ?t?“?Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; ?20? ?u?but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. ?21? For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
?22? ?v? “?The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is ?7?good, your whole body will be full of light. ?23? But if your eye is ?8?bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
?24? ?w?“?No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. ?x?You cannot serve God and ?9?mammon.
t ?Prov. 23:4?; [?1 Tim. 6:17?; ?Heb. 13:5?]; ?James 5:1?
u ?Matt. 19:21?; ?Luke 12:33?; ?18:22?; ?1 Tim. 6:19?; ?1 Pet. 1:4?
v ?Luke 11:34?, ?35?
7 Clear, or healthy
8 Evil, or unhealthy
w ?Luke 16:9?, ?11?, ?13?
x [?Gal. 1:10?; ?1 Tim. 6:17?; ?James 4:4?; ?1 John 2:15?]
9 Lit., in Aram., riches
The New King James Version. 1996, c1982 (Mt 6:19). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

Well, it seems Jesus wasn't just talking about money. He was talking about our whole attitude to life, who we put in control of it. Mammon is quite an old word, but Jesus was basically saying "it's him (mammon) or me".

The treasure Jesus was talking about wasn't just neccesarily money. Our treasure is the thing in life we're most passionate about, whether it be our partner, our car, our career, our family, our independance... a whole host of things. What Jesus was saying was whatever that "treasure" is, it needs to be under My control, and given to me to use. Our heart (the seat of our emotions/intellect/will) should be His first.

Will (our Pastor) mentioned the fact that we like to get round this passage by relating it to money, but Jesus was going far deeper than that. He was saying our whole attitude to life should be focused on Him. All this separation of "church is sacred, work is secular" stuff isn't biblical. Jesus wants the whole of our lives under his influence, not just the "religious bits". It really made me think this morning. There's parts of my life (even working in a "christian job") that I with-hold from God, and don't talk to Him about. I need to invite God to be with me every hour of my day, not just when I'm being "religious".

Will quoted Psalm 89:11 The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth;
you founded the world and all that is in it.

In other words, this whole sacred/secular thing we talk about as Christians, is not something God designed! God sees everything in the world, and in a very real sense, he owns it, and everything in it. Jesus, in the passage, is asking for us to put our treasure under Him in priority, whatever that treasure is. It all belong to Him anyway!! :-)

Catching Up...

Ok, so here goes a brief summary of my life over the past few days...

(you KNOW you all want to know really... it's eating you up inside with curiosity, isn't it?!)

Ok...

Thursday:

All day in work, pretty uneventful and quiet. Got bored. But... got picked up straight from work by my mate Baz, and went straight to the studio to start editing jingles for our show which starts on Saturday 5th March. Not long now!

We spent the first ten mionutes umming and ahhing in the Live Room, because as usual, we had decided last week to just turn up on the night and make the jingles up as we went along. Usually this no problem, as when you put me and Baz in a room together, insanity and mayhem usually is the result. However, this time we had a HUGE mental block, as we needed a name for the show, and had forgotten to give it one....

(This is kind of important when you're trying to think up Jingles!!)

After twenty minutes of really really bad and awful name suggestions, Baz hit on a moment of DIVINE INSPIRATION... He asked me when was our show last time before someone nicked the slot for it this schedule? I reminded him last time our show was on a Tuesday, and now this time round it'll be on a Saturday night...

"Got it!!!" Baz said. "If we we've been moved to Saturday because someone nicked our slot, let's call it "Not The Tuesday Show"!!!!

And so... a legend has been born.

'Not The Tuesday Show' will be broadcasting every Saturday from March 5th, featuring Baz, Nigel, and yours truly revelling in madness, mayhem, silly games, prank phonecalls, silly adverts, quizzes, lots of quality Christian Music and LOTS of MANIC LAUGHTER...

Once we'd decided the name, the rest was easy... If I knew how to post audio on this blog, I'd play you some of the final jingles, which involve me and Baz screaming over three separate but simultaneous rock songs, advertising the show...

I know, I know.

You'd have to hear it to get it.

Those of you who are on the Wirral, tune in from March 5th, on Saturday nights from 8 till 10, on 87.7 Fm, and hopefully, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the chaos, random comments, and general outlandishness that appears over the airwaves...

(Just a little advert there... You can't blame me...)

Anyway, we finished recording about 10:30, and I got home for 11:15, absolutely knackered...

Friday:

Hmmmm. Knackered. Spent most of the day in work trying to wake up. Uneventful mainly, the highlight being helping my Boss to manually add up hundreds of sheets of counted stock (gate method!) I really, really struggled not to fall asleep dead to the world and unconscious on the shop floor that day.

Evening was a teeny bit more exciting, I learned how to copy and paste Video html codes from MusicVideoCodes.com, thanks to Sven's blog. I did this of course, choosing to put Keane's Somewhere Only We Know as my first choice. (obviously they're not there at the top of the page now) Very sad to say it, but I felt a great sense of satisfaction and pleasure, when I saw a music video appearing at the top of my Blog. Dunno why.

Carried on editing stuff, and messin around with my Blog Template, until I suddenly realised it was 1:30 am!!! I was in work the next day, so quickly saved all changes, and switched the computer off and tried to go to bed and sleep. This was a big mistake. My mind was still over-active from blogging, and I lay there in bed for about 30 mins, trying to calm my mind, before I drifted off to sleep, miraculously!!

Today:

ABSOLUTELY KNACKERED. Seriously. Whacked. Very Very Tired. All this and more described how I was feeling today in work. Suddenly realised today that I'm going to have to get some sleep tommorrow (Sunday) afternoon, because it's the American Football Superbowl starting at 10:40 in the nightime, and it'll carry on 'till probably 3am. (British Time) I slept standing up in work today, mostly being suddenly woken up by cruel, unusually demanding customers... Wanted to be in bed asleep rather than in work today.

To make it worse, the shop was open till 7:30 pm tonight, (a whole extra TWO HOURS!!!) due to an event called SPACE (Youth Event, lot's of loud Christian bands, mainly Rock and Pop) which was being held next door to the shop practically, in the Royal Court Theatre. This event is bi-monthly, and has about 3,000 young people go to it at the moment.

Needless to say, no one came in to shop, and I spent two hours pacing up and down, and chatting to people. About two people bought something, and even then, it was only 20p bookmarks!!! Decided by 6:30 I'd had enough, but was told we'd have to stay open till 7:30. Was Mightily Cheesed Off, as there was no evidence of actual puchasing taking place anywhere in the store!!! Never mind.

I locked up at 7:30 precisely, and decided I couldn't be bothered going to the actual event, as I was too tired, so went straight home.

That's it so far! Told you you'd be interested!!! (NOT!)

Oh well... there you have it!

Errrrrrrrm....!

This is Nigel's Mugshot for the radio show, according to him...

Change Of Video...

For those of you who like heavy Rock/Rapcore/Nu Metal style music, listen/watch/digest this music video by the band P.O.D. (Payable On Death)...

This track is from their latest album, (called "Payable On Death" funnily enough!) they're actually a Christian band that is good, believe it or not!! This track is one of their quieter, more mellow ones. They were lucky enough to be asked to record a song for the third film in the Matrix trilogy, it featured in the film, and on the soundtrack. That was called "SleepingAwake".

These guys have been going for a long time, and they are finally getting the recognition they deserve after so many years...

Listen and enjoy.

If you like it, sample some of the rest of the album by clicking on the link to their website which should appear on my blog, in a few minutes...! ;)

Thanks Sven...! :-)

I know he's having a hard time of it lately, but he's been making me think, and now, he's also pointed me to a place where I can get some of my favourite music videos FREE! to post on my blog...

You're a good chap mate, however "liberal" people think you are... !!

;)

lol

For those of you who don't like Keane....

Hard Luck!!

'Cos I do, and it's MY BLOG!!!!!

Muhahahaha!!!!

Blogging Mad!!!!

For those of you who do actually read my blog, you'll notice I've gone a bit mad on all the freebies!!!

Well... why not!!!

Was a bit bored with my blog anyway, so thought I'd liven it up a bit, I've now decided to take the password off the forum, that was a bit over possesive of me I think, since it's got it's own built-in censor anyway!!!

I've now got links to other blogger's sites, this day in history, a forum, a tag board, daily cartoons, and a slightly different colour scheme...

Pheeeeeeew!! I've been busy!!

Enjoy, post, tag, leave comments, and be fruitful;

and if you don't like pop-ups... get a blocker, or get Mozilla, silly!!!

I'm knackered after a day of updating, I'm off to bed!!

Hah! Im not as thick as I thought!! :-)

John-Mark, your Super IQ score is 105

Your overall intelligence quotient is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly. But it's only part of what we learned about you from your answers on the test. We also determined the way you process information.

The way you think about things makes you a Linguistic Architect. This means you are brilliant when it comes to language and words. You are also very good at understanding things on an abstract level. You are at your best when you put those two skills together to communicate new ideas and see how they fit into different contexts. You understand math and science on a gut level, even if the equations and science don't come as easily. You can use these skills to be a great communicator or to create a masterpiece.

How did we determine that your thinking style is that of a Linguistic Architect? When we examined your test results further, we analyzed how you scored on 8 dimensions of intelligence: spatial, organizational, abstract reasoning, logical, mechanical, verbal, visual and numerical. The 3 dimensions you scored highest on combine to make you a Linguistic Architect. Only 6 out of 1,000 people have this rare combination of abilities.

Brain Dead

Having finished Stocktake AND Month End accounts today... I resorted to slobbing all night tonight, as my brain has died, due to being overworked by figures...

I had loads of stuff I could have been doing tonight, but I really couldn't be bothered, choosing to procrastinate instead. That's actually my worst personality trait. I can procrastinate till the cows never come home.... (that's an intentional pun by the way)

Oh, how unfunny I am tonight!!

Never mind, at least I've got a day off tommorrow to recover...

I think I'll go walkabout and take some pics, I haven't posted any on here for a while!!

Off to get a coffee... the elixiur of my life...
