In With The New, Out With The Old...

Yes, yes, I know I haven't posted for Aeons...

Well, I'd like to tell you all my excuses now; the fact that Christmas in Retail is like crazy crazy time, and you don't have time to stop and think, never mind blog; the fact that my lovely, beautiful, gorgeous, kind and beautiful fiance has come to visit me and flew in on Boxing Day; the fact that I've been promoted and started on the 2nd Jan as Wesley Owen Liverpool's new Branch Manager... oh there's so many excuses I could give you!!

Anyway...

Suffice it to say I have been VERY busy, and hardly noticed the dawn of a New Year, and unfortunately was ill over Christmas, so the whole season passed by me without much excitement from me!

I think only now am I starting to think in terms of a New year, with new op[portunities and challenges, etc. The first few days as the new Manager were excruciating! I had a 17 box recall of stock to get done, and most of the shop to rearrange and re-stock after Christmas. It's only really today that I'm starting to feel on top of things, and anything remotely like a routine has started.

This year is a big year for me. I'm getting married this year, (how long have I waited to say that?! - HEE!!!! :p ) and the marriage service will be on another continent approx 4,000 miles away!! It will require me to use up the rest of my annual leave for this year, to book three weeks over the wedding period; one week before and two weeks after...

This will be the year that I finally move out of my parents house; flat viewings will start on Saturday with Megan, but they're only at the viewing stage at the moment just to give us an idea of how much we'll be paying for what size generally, etc. The real flat-hunt will probably start in may/June, as I'll need to have a place of my own by then, to put on the Spouse Visa application we'll have to send off for megan before the Wedding!!

Oh yes, there's also that. We have to undergo the whole process of applying for a Visa for Megan to enter the UK and to settle here after six months. This costs money and lots of it, and will involve LOTS of paperwork and many, many signatures!! We're finding out more details from the British Consulate in New York when we ring them when I'm over in the states for two weeks of Wedding Planning in March!!

So, as you can see, I'll be busy!!

Can I be let off please for not blogging?!

Pretty Please?!

  2. Listening to your recent life changes (work promotion, engagement etc) really reminds me just how much God is a God of incredible kindness, goodness, blessing and shepherding and how He opens and closes door just at the right time.

However, the thing that most reminds me about this with you is this: how in heaven did you manage to get a top class lady like Megan to say yes to you?!!?
